I've been overly in my head this month, overthinking some big life decisions in my near future.
And my ideas for beautiful Wednesday Wisdoms stayed in my head.
So this week, let's keep it short and simple.
Feel like the ground is eroding from under you? Just keep hanging in there, like this tree.
3 breaths
There are many antidotes to overthinking, but one that you can use anywhere is simple and free.
Take 3 slow, enjoyable breaths.
You don't have to breathe the deepest you've ever breathed.
You don't have to count up to a certain number for the inhale and exhale, unless you want to. Just slow your breathing down a little bit and really focus on the sensations you can feel.
Let's do it together . . .
One . . . ah that feels good
Two . . . ah settling in
Three . . . ah letting go
For today and the rest of this week, remind yourself to take a little pause for breathing any time you notice you're feeling more stressed than you want to feel.
Three breaths might not be all you need to feel peace, but it's a great start because . . .
Doing a little something for peace is much better than doing nothing.
That's all for this week. Enjoy your pauses to breathe and I'll be back next week with another tip for finding inner peace.
Thanks for some of your precious time and attention today.
This email was sent from Missoula, Montana so . . .
Thank you to the First Nations of what is now called Western Montana: the Bitterroot Séliš (Salish), the Ql̓ispé (Kalispel), and the Ksanka (Kootenai) - you can read more about all 3 nations on their website.
I also want to give thanks to the Amskapi Piikani (Blackfeet) and the Apsáalooke (Crow) First Nations because I’ve been to and enjoyed their traditional homelands in recent years. Many thanks for your hospitality.
